Making progress look effortless

The client:

The Learning and Skills Council and the COI.

The brief:

To name and create a brand identity for an ‘Information, Advice and Guidance’ service for adult learners, and to roll this out nationally on and off-line.

Our solution:

The challenge was to create a single, unifying brand identity from a confusing quagmire of competing ‘mini-brands’.

Working with a number of strategic partners and researchers, we initially went through a vigorous process to identify a clear, hard-working name.

‘Nextstep’ was chosen to encapsulate the confidence-building nature of the service in a clear and accessible way – qualities we developed via a simple logo and fuss-free brand identity. Optimism was closely involved in developing the look and feel of Nextstep, producing a host of branded materials including the design of a new website.
