Giving a new brand serious clout

The client:

Fonebak; provider of the world’s first mobile phone recycling scheme.

The brief:

To create a new brand identity for Fonebak.

Our solution:

First, we interrogated Fonebak’s credentials, and the future plans of their parent company, Shields Environmental. It was clear that the brands environmental and recycling objectives should be fore-grounded, so we created a master logo with a green ‘e’ at it’s centre, symbolising the environment, and protective arcs or shields at either side; a subtle reference to Shields Environmental.

The identity was then brought to life across a wide range of media, including exhibition panels, stationery, annual reports and environment statements.

The branding was well-received and adopted by a number of Fonebak’s partners, including high profile brands such as O2, Virgin, Vodafone, Orange, WaterAid and Sainsbury’s – who all commissioned Optimism to produce co-branded materials on their behalf.
